Domain Sales Process
and Transfer of Ownership Process
Domain Sales Process
Why buy a domain name from RobSequin.com?
1. We don't run a domain name "museum". We specialize in keyword-specific and brandable domain names. Our domains are usually priced to
sell and not made to sit in a "museum" only to be looked at because of high prices. Buyers may not always
agree with our prices but we may see larger market and development opportunities thus reflected in a higher
than "market" price for some of our domain names.
2. Make an offer: We love offers. We don't always accept offers but many times after a buyer contacts us with a
reasonable offer, we will accept the offer or make a reasonable counter offer.
3. Unlimited Support: We offer unlimited customer support before, during and after the transfer. We will help buyers
understand nameservers, forwarding, web site development, hosting, registrars, marketing, pay per click
revenue, parking, etc. Call us at (508) 737-1654 before, during and after the transfer and we will answer
your questions so you can start using your new domain name(s) right away. You will have a friend in the
business.
4. Pricing: Domain acquisition, pricing and sales are part art and part science. We
invest many hours per week reading news articles and researching industry-specific categories and keyword
terms that interest us. We also invest many hours per week scouring the dropping domain lists and chasing
previously registered domain names that will be dropping back into the publicly available domain
pool.
Many of our domains are for sale and are priced loosely according to one or more factors, not
necessarily in order:
- Size of industry
- Appearance and extension
- Availability of related domains
- Acquisition cost
- Current Revenue and future revenue potential of domain name if/when developed
- Time invested to acquire the domain name
- Maintenance of portfolio
- Future value
- Desirability and potential brand name
- Rarity and uniqueness
- Investment potential
- We guess at what we think a buyer will pay. :-)
Note that most of our domains are PRICED, not simply "make offer". We believe that buyers do not
want to walk into a store and find products on the shelf with "make offer" on the price tag! Buyers may not
agree with some of our prices but at least we put prices on them.
5. References: provided upon request. We are known in the industry and have sold and bought domains
from several of the "Players" in this domain industry.
We have reported many sales to the Domain Name Journal
including Voip.us for
$25,000, one of the highest sale prices for .us in history. Other sales include Videoblog.com for $21,000 and
MobileBlog.com for $10,120, TheHemingway.com for $4100,
GayBlog.com for $3100, PoliceBlog.com for $2600 and many more that we can't publish due to non-disclosure
agreements.
Secondary Marketplace Listings: Our domains may be listed for sale in one or more
secondary marketplaces. Since we prefer direct negotiations and transactions we prefer that buyers contact us
directly with offers. We are more receptive to discounted offers if we don't have to pay sales commissions
and third party escrow transactions. We reserve the right to remove any domain name from our sales list at
any time and prices are subject to change without notice.
If a buyer prefers to buy one of our domains from a particular marketplace such as Sedo,
Afternic, Ebay, DomainState, SitePoint, NamePros, etc. rather than directly from us, we are happy to discuss
such an arrangement. First we must agree on the price and terms then we can finalize the transaction as
requested by the buyer.

Transfer of Ownership Process
After we receive payment in full (and signed contract if discussed), we will send you a purchase
confirmation email, unlock the domain and prepare for transfer to you. There are two ways to transfer a
domain from our registrar to you.
Transfer Procedure #1: PULL - Purchase a "request for transfer" from your registrar of choice. This "purchase" price
is usually a one year extension to the expiration date of the domain. We will receive an email from your
registrar asking us to approve the transfer away which we will do right away.
Time elapsed from payment received to registrant change: 2 to 5 days.
Transfer Procedure #2: PUSH - Many of our domains are registered at our domain management site (a GoDaddy® reseller). After payment in full you will open an
account there then send us your name, mailing address, email and phone number that you used when you opened the
account. DO NOT send us your username or password.
We will then do an "account change" or PUSH the domain name to this new account thus giving you
complete ownership and control. You will also have the ability to purchase a full line of GoDaddy® supported
services like email, hosting, whois privacy, etc at any time should you need domain services.
Most of our domains are in registered at our GoDaddy reseller account as well so we know
the user interface, available products and services. Note that we do not see or have any access to your user
name or password. All customer support is done directly by GoDaddy® regarding nameservers, parking, pay
per click, forwarding etc. at any time. If, for some reason, the domain name you are purchasing is not our main reseller account, we
will notify you and require Transfer Procedure #1: PULL.
Time elapsed from purchase to registrant change: Immediate transfer in most cases.
ICANN Transfer Restriction: If any domain name was acquired or renewed within the past 60 days, it is not available for
transfer until the 61st day per ICANN transfer
restrictions. If this is the case, payment in full will still be due as agreed but we will change the
"WHOIS" information from our ownership, contact and nameserver information to your information after payment
in full. You will then have ownership and nameserver control so you can host a web site, park the domain name
or forward the domain to an existing web site right away. You can then complete the transfer away yourself
after the 60 days have elapsed. We will provide you with the date of the 61st day from acquisition or
renewal.
After the transfer: Most sales are reported to Domain Name Journal to be posted
in their weekly domain sales report updated each Tuesday evening. If you do not want a sale reported to
Domain Name Journal, please bring this up during negotiations.
For sales over $5000, we should discuss issuing a joint press release that will promote the
transaction featuring you and/or your company as the buyer and us as the seller.
If this transaction is meant to be private, please make that clear and we will honor such a
request.
Transfer out: Regardless of the transfer procedure you choose when you buy a domain from us, you will be able
to transfer the domain name away to any other registrar you choose after waiting the ICANN mandated 60 day
transfer restriction.
